Retiree organizations marched today in the vicinity of the Congress, where the Federal Police cordoned off the area to ensure free traffic flow. Police sources told the Argentine News Agency that the Federal Police was the only force deployed for the operation. As every Wednesday, retirees held a protest for improvements to their pensions at the corner of Avenida Rivadavia and Callao, where security forces cordoned off the area to guarantee free circulation. Around 15:00, the protesters managed to pull down part of the barriers that had been set up as part of the police operation on Avenida Rivadavia. So far, no major incidents or clashes between security forces and retirees who came to protest near the Congress have been reported.
